Fluke (also known as Summer Flounder) love
certain colors and the more alive the squid lure looks, the more
attractive it will be to a Fluke. A specially made insert makes my squid
come alive, bringing in those 'doormat fluke'. Different fishing conditions
require a slight adjustment to where a rig should be attached to the
line. Offset the bend of the hook to really increase your hookup ratio.
Add a strip of Squid or Mackerel and a couple of Spearing to your hook
and nothing will resist your rig.

Glow is the best all around color. I always start out with glow and then change off to other colors if necessary. Other colors to use depends on what food is presently around. When popcorn bunker are around, the white squid lures with inserts were the hot color. Pink (baby squid), followed by green/sparkle (sand eels) will also score well. The only thing missing from the fish you catch is the word 'doormat'. These rigs have a special cupped blade to produce that 'dormat fluke and flounder' attracting sound and flash. Glow is the best all around color. I always start out with glow and then change off to other colors if necessary. My hot pink squid following my hot pink spinner blade gets them going when all else fails. Truly a giant 'doormat' killer. Overcast days when fishing is mediocre at best, try my translucent pearl with white blade in front of white squid lure to turn on those doormats. Green represents spearing/bait fish. Blue and Chartreuse are great for deep or turbid water. |
